THE SILVER PAVILION BECOMES THE CHOCOLATE PAVILION

Hershey’s Kisses ain’t got nothing on Ginkaku-ji Chocolate by Japanese artist Yasuhiro Suzuki. This ornate chocolate candy is modeled after the Temple of the Silver Pavilion in Kyoto, Japan. The original “Silver Pavilion” isn’t actually silver, but was originally intended to be wrapped in silver foil—just like the candy. Obviously the original creators back in the 15th century recognized the potential for product tie-ins and had planned all along to sell foil-wrapped chocolate versions of the temple to tourists. Either that, or they were just trying to copy the Temple of the Golden Pavilion which already existed at the time. But who cares, right? Shiny things and candy!

THE COOKBOOK YOU CAN EAT

This is The Real Cookbook by Korefe, a German design agency. It’s described as the first and only cookbook you can read, make and eat. Each page of the tome is a sheet of pasta that spells out step-by-step directions for a classic lasagna. The pages also double as the layers of noodle in between all the good stuff. Mamma mia! That’s genius. Here I’m still trying to wrap my head around Taco Flavored Ramen and we’ve got people out there coming up with edible books. Of course, you’re talking to a person who ate PB&J on a stale hotdog bun for lunch today. Which, by the way, does NOT taste nearly as good as it sounds.

CHOCOLATE SKULLS GONE NUTS

A collection of three delicious chocolate skulls are home made for sale, they come in either walnut or candy as the brain. As creepy as this is, we’re sure it tastes amazing with any possible combination of white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. This dangerously dark treat is FDA approved and surely a conversation starter for as long as it doesn’t melt in your hand. Buy here
