WORDPHARMACY, THE PARTS OF SPEECH AS MEDICATION

Wordpharmacy is a poetry box set in which each part of speech (nouns, verbs, etc.) is represented by a box designed to look like medication packaging. Each box contains an instructional poem “guiding the reader’s ingestion of the given word group.” Wordpharmacy was written by poet Morten Søndergaard and designer Christian Ramsø, both of Denmark. To celebrate the project’s launch, publisher Broken Dimanche Press has converted their Berlin office into a pharmacy storefront. Individual word boxes and the full box set are available for purchase.

RAMPART MOVIE POSTER CAMPAIGN FEATURES WOODY HARRELSON AS A COP BEATING A MAN

The marketing team behind the upcoming movie, Rampart, have been pasting up controversial posters in several major U.S. cities showing Woody Harrelson’s character, Officer Dave Brown, beating a man with a night stick. The posters simply say “I WORK FOR YOU” with the opening date and are meant to look like street art wheatpaste posters. The film opens February 10, 2012.

A PICTURE WORTH ONE WORD

A word can convey meaning, but it will never get an idea across with as much impact as a picture. But designer and creative director Ji Lee turns words into pictures, making them convey meaning in a way that could be understood instantly and universally. The book Word As Image contains nearly 100 different words designed to look like their definition. Lee invites others to create their own and share them atWordAsImage.com. The only rule is that the graphic must only contain elements of letters without any additional shapes.
